Working on games is tough, it's really easy to get your head all mixed up and the design process comes to a hault. So for a little break and side project I decided to make a quick app that I've been thinking about for a few days, and also show off how powerful and fast the Corona Labs SDK is for churning out apps quickly.
I'm a table top gamer as a hobby and a cool recent game that's come out is Star Realms by White Wizard Games. It's a 2+ player sci-fi deckbuilder, and also has some solo play expansions to go with it! The folks at BoardGameGeek.com have also put together some more solo challenges for those of us that don't always have opponents to play with #foreveralone.
This one is called the Replicators challenge and it's a pretty neat 'Print and Play' challenge from game designer ShaunGamer at BGG.com.
Thing is, I don't have access to a printer, but I do have access to Corona SDK! So instead of printing it, ill just put it on my tablet and play that way!

All in all this app took about 10 hours to complete and get the assets(images, sounds), and has full logic and physics. That's a fraction of the time it would take to create this app from the ground up in something like Android Studio!
The source code is up on Git now:
I will go into detail here on the main points of the programs logic to show how easy apps are in the Corona SDK in the next posts.
